LOS ANGELES—Sources reported that Instagram user Diana Jones was struggling yesterday evening over which infographic to post regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict after the recent escalation of violence in East Jerusalem and Gaza this past week. “I usually just post on my Instagram story whatever Kelly and Michelle shared, but now I am not sure what to do because Michelle posted a story about how Israel is a colonial settler state, while Kelly shared an article about antisemitic tropes and blood libels that pervade criticisms of Israel.” She also explained that this was the first occasion that she had spent more than five minutes researching the topic before sharing a post. “Both infographics start off with ‘this is what’s really going on,’ so now I am really unsure about which one I should share.” At press time, Jones was growing increasingly concerned that her followers would condemn her for “staying silent on the issue,” even though many of them disagreed on what the issue actually was.
