Nook Inc. To Halt Donations to Hawley, Cruz

NOOK’S CRANNY—Real estate development company Nook Inc. announced that it will halt all campaign contributions to Senators Josh Hawley (MO) and Ted Cruz (TX) following the lawmakers’ opposition to certifying the results of the United States election and corresponding insurrection, according to a statement by CEO Tom Nook. “In light of this week’s egregious assault on the United States Capitol, and the votes of some members of Congress to overturn the results of the November election, Nook Inc. will suspend donations to Senators Hawley and Cruz for attempting to undermine our democracy” said Nook, a real estate magnate and longtime GOP donor who has drawn frequent comparisons to President Trump for his brash style and existence in an alternate reality. “The baseless allegations of electoral fraud brought by the Senators and fueled by the President encouraged these violent rioters, and despite my shared values with the Republican Party, I can no longer in good conscience continue to financially support these seditious lawmakers.” In light of Nook’s statement, DoDo Airlines also announced that Hawley and Cruz would be banned from flights to and from all islands the carrier services, and would no longer be permitted to charter flights for campaign purposes pending an FBI investigation into the two Senators’ involvement in the attack on the Capitol.
