Area Man Mourns Loss of Local Businesses, Lives to COVID-19

PASADENA—In an emotional interview with LAish, area man David Jorgenson lamented the tragic loss of local businesses such as Vape Hut and Mike’s Wings as well as the lives of numerous local residents to the COVID-19 pandemic. “I just can’t believe that one day they were here, and now they’re gone,” said a grief-stricken Jorgenson, holding back tears as he clutched a photograph he took of his last order of wings from Mike’s, adding that he would have cherished the wings much more had he known they would soon be yet another casualty of the pandemic. “This virus has taken so much from us—the ability to spend time with our loved ones, countless small businesses, 200 people per day… and now Mike’s Wings?! A vaccine can solve a lot, but it can’t bring them back. There will always be a hole in my heart.” Jorgenson urged others to take LA’s COVID-19 guidelines seriously, because losing even one fast-casual restaurant or life is one too many.
